Andrew Hart

Chief Executive Officer & Chief Compliance Officer

Andrew Hart is the founder, CEO and CCO of Next Capital Management (NEXT). NEXT began in 1998 as an affiliate of Bear Stearns where Andrew was a Senior Managing Director from 1998 through 2007. Prior to founding NEXT, Andrew was a Vice President in the Private Client Services division of Goldman Sachs. During his 8 years at Goldman Sachs, Andrew oversaw a team that managed investments for high net worth individuals and families. Andrew received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 1990 and a B.S. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. Prior to receiving his M.B.A., he worked as an Analyst for Abner, Herman & Brock, a Registered Investment Adviser for high net worth families, and as an Analyst for Theodore Barry & Associates, a Management Consulting firm. Andrew is active in various charities in his community.

James McGurren

Senior Managing Director

Jim McGurren is a Senior Managing Director of Next Capital Management, LLC. Jim joined NEXT with over 17 years experience as the founder of an SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm focusing on investment and wealth management services. Jim was engaged in the practice of Public Accounting for over 25 years and was a partner of a regional accounting firm. In addition to specializing in tax and financial planning for the affluent, he also provided consulting services for complex financial transactions and strategies to middle-market clients. Graduating from Fordham University in New York with a B.S. degree in Accounting, Jim is a CPA, CFP® and a member of the Financial Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jim lives with his family on Long Island and is active in several charities in his community.

Ryan Davis

Chief Operating Officer & Director of Research

Ryan Davis, CFA, CAIA is the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Research at Next Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining Next, Ryan was a senior analyst in the alternative investments group at Fortigent, an outsourced provider of research and technology services for high net worth advisory firms. At Fortigent, he was primarily responsible for the selection and implementation of hedge funds and other non-traditional investment solutions. He also led the firm’s asset allocation research and helped manage multi-asset class and dedicated alternative investment portfolios. Ryan is a frequent speaker on alternative investments and his research has been featured in major industry journals and news sites. Previously, he was an economist at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. He graduated from the George Washington University with a B.S. in Economics and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. Ryan lives in Princeton, New Jersey with his wife and two children.

Scott Blankman

Managing Director

Scott Blankman is a Managing Director of Next Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining NEXT, he was a Principal and Financial Advisor at Bernstein Global Wealth Management for eight years, where he advised high-net-worth families and institutions, as well as their respective trusts, estates, foundations, and pension plans. His areas of investment expertise include goal-based asset allocation, corporate executive planning, charitable planning, and multi-generational wealth transfer. Previously, Scott was an investment banker for nine years at Salomon Smith Barney, Schroder & Co. Inc., and SBC Warburg (now UBS). As a banker he was initially a mergers and acquisitions specialist, and he also raised significant amounts of equity and debt capital. He focused primarily on the media and healthcare industries. Scott earned his B.S. degree from Brown University and his M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School. Scott currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Project Morry, and lives in Manhattan with his wife and two children.

Ross Levin

Managing Director

Ross Levin is a Managing Director with Next Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining NEXT in 2007, Ross worked at Merrill Lynch in The Global Private Client Group as a Financial Advisor, where he focused on high net worth individuals and corporations. Ross has extensive entrepreneurial experience having managed and owned several small businesses. He is an active fundraiser for the Staten Island Heart Society and previously served on their Board of Directors. Ross received his B.A. in Psychology from Kansas University and currently resides with his wife and two children in Summit, New Jersey.

Galit Kursman

Director/Private Wealth Advisor

Galit Kursman is a Director/Private Wealth Advisor at Next Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining NEXT in 2014, Galit worked for Credit Suisse for twenty years on the Investment Grade Credit trading desk. In that role, Galit traded corporate bonds and commercial paper. She focused on a variety of industries, including healthcare, retail, industrials and banks, and interacted with Treasurers and CFOs of many Fortune 500 companies. Galit received her B.A. from the University of Rochester and her M.B.A. from the Wharton School. Galit lives in Manhattan with her husband and two children.

Donna Redel

Senior Advisor

Donna Redel is a Senior Advisor at Next Capital Management, LLC. Donna is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic 50 Inc., a firm that links top-level professional women to global consulting and project-based assignments. Prior to joining NEXT, Donna was the Managing Director and Board Member of the World Economic Forum and the only woman elected Chairman of the Board of the Commodity Exchange. She also served as Chief Information and Technology Officer at Prudential Securities for both the international and derivatives divisions. Donna has been instrumental in women’s issues for over 20 years; she founded the Women’s Leadership Initiative at the World Economic Forum, created the Women’s Health program at NY Presbyterian Hospital and continues her involvement in financial literacy programs. Donna is on the Board of Penn State Smeal School of Business, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Columbia University’s Paris Alliance Program, a founding Board Member of the Global Poverty Project USA, an Advisory Council member of the NY Presbyterian Hospital, as well as on its Dean’s Council and serving as President of the Lying-in Hospital. Donna received her law degree from Fordham Law, where she later developed and taught a course on Risk Management and Derivatives. She also received an M.B.A. from Columbia University School of Business and a B.A. from Barnard College. Donna lives in Manhattan with her husband.

Cathi Sanford

Director of Operations

Cathi Sanford is the Director of Operations for Next Capital Management LLC. Prior to joining NEXT, Cathi worked at Bear Stearns Securities Corp. where she was a Client Service Representative – Vice President for the Broker-Dealer Investment Advisor Services group. Cathi was previously employed as an Associate at Oppenheimer & Co. in the Restricted and Control Stock group and she was a Marketing Associate for a boutique brokerage firm. Cathi received her B.S. in Marketing with a concentration in International Business from Saint John’s University. She has a Certificate in Finance from New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Cathi is an active volleyball player and an active alumnus of Saint John’s. Cathi lives with her family in Westchester.

Barbara Shames

Vice President, Client Relations

Barbara Shames is Vice President of Client Relations at Next Capital Management, LLC. She brings over 20 years of experience in the financial service industry. In her previous role as Operations Manager at Northeast Securities, she worked closely with broker-dealers, clearing firms, and departmental staff to optimize results, improve efficiency and ensure a smooth and successful back office. She is a graduate of Rider University. Barbara loves travel, music and spending time with family and friends. Barbara lives on Long Island with her husband.

Marie Silecchia

Compliance Associate

Marie Silecchia joined Next Capital Management, LLC with 25 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining NEXT, Marie worked at Merrill Lynch where she held various positions including Vice President in Marketing Communications focusing on asset allocation and diversification strategies, VP in Finance for Individual Investment Products and Compliance Officer for the Merrill Lynch Cash Management Account. Marie has held the NYSE Branch Office Manager certifications and also worked as a tax preparer for a major tax preparation company.

Nicholas Caesar


Nicholas Caesar is an Associate at Next Capital Management, LLC. He joined Next after graduating from Lehigh University with a B.S. in Finance. After working for three years at Next, Nicholas moved to Boston and worked for TJX Inc. as an analyst, where he was responsible for analyzing sales trends to maximize profits. After two years of working for a large public company, Nicholas rejoined Next Capital Management as an Associate to get back into the wealth management industry. Nicholas currently lives in Manhattan with his wife.

Daniel Magier


Daniel Magier is an Associate at Next Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining NEXT, he worked at Fidelity Investments for five years where he focused on assisting Fidelity’s high net worth clients with holistic wealth planning. Daniel worked with clients to identify, prioritize, and develop long-term financial plans and solutions that would help them achieve their individual monetary goals. Daniel is a CFP® professional and received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2013, where he graduated Cum Laude. Dan enjoys sports, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Catherine Dine


Catherine Dine is an Analyst for Next Capital Management, LLC. She is a recent graduate of Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business where she majored in Applied Accounting and Finance. While at Fordham, Catherine was an intern for a distressed debt investing firm as a junior trader before moving to the research analyst position. Outside of work, she enjoys playing basketball and golf with friends along with traveling to Chicago to visit her family.
